Job Description
PURPOSE: Primarily responsible for ensuring that the company goals and objectives are met in a timely and accurate manner.
JOB SUMMARY: 2nd shift Production Supervisor. Maintain a positive company image, achieve safety and performance goals. Motivate, coach, train, and lead employees to perform their duties safely and efficiently. Maintain linen quality, control production costs, meet inventory initiatives, and reduce employee turnover.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise multiple departments and a diverse team of production operators performing various functions.
- Ensure employees are at their work areas at the start of shifts with sufficient workloads.
- Maintain a steady workflow on the production floor and soil sort areas.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and efficient work environment that meets quality standards.
- Use production and quality metrics, visual indicators, and positive reinforcement to ensure accuracy and accountability.
- Enforce company policies and procedures consistently in production supervision duties.
- Provide training and ongoing coaching to improve employee performance.
- Collaborate with HR to determine hiring, training, and employee development needs.
- Approve PTO and leave schedules.
- Introduce new employees to company objectives, policies, and safety standards, ensuring proper training.
- Enhance production efficiency (PPOH) and reduce productive labor percentage.
- Review production and performance records routinely with management.
- Coordinate with Maintenance on equipment repairs and follow up.
- Address customer concerns promptly and satisfactorily.
- Ensure daily safety, quality, and productivity standards are met.
- Maintain plant organization and cleanliness through proper 5S practices.
- Provide accountability to ensure consistent results across the organization.
- Set and communicate performance goals and deadlines aligned with company objectives.
- Prepare performance reports and recommend promotions based on performance.
- Regularly monitor the production floor to oversee employee performance and minimize lost time.
- Perform additional duties as deemed appropriate by supervisors or management.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Stand for up to 10 hours daily.
- Manual dexterity for production tasks.
- Push/pull carts weighing up to 800 lbs. on wheels.
- Meet physical requirements such as bending, twisting, and pulling.
- Strong management skills for organizing, directing, and training.
- Ability to accept responsibility and be accountable.
- Perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving abilities for complex issues.
- Ability to develop skills in others.
- High school diploma required.
- 6 months to 1 year of related production experience preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is desirable.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
