Job summary

Tenneco is seeking a frontline supervisor for our Alabama site to lead Group Leaders and ensure quality, delivery, and compliance with ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards.

The role requires 3–5 years in a warehouse or manufacturing environment with prior supervisory experience, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Technical degree is a plus; on-site work with HR collaboration for onboarding and training.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent; Technical degree preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years experience or training in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience in supervision role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of the Group Leaders to produce a quality part to satisfy our customers.
• Responsible for quality and delivery performance.
• Ensures policies and procedures are followed.
• Responsible for site accuracy of reporting, root cause investigations and solutions including inventory reduction.
• Resolve employee conflict and coordination with HR for support as needed.
• Execute onboarding and training for new employees in collaboration with HR.
• Prepares accurate reports for scrap, hours, overtime, safety, piece per labor hour metric, plex inventory and quality.
• Responsible for 8D problem solving, Kaizen activities, continuous improvement and GP12/Safe Launch monitoring.
• Manages overtime and monitors the Critical 40 in the department.
• Enforces and maintains a safe workplace in accordance with corporate values and 5SP3 standardization.
• Responsible for conducting and submitting Reviews for Increase and Annual Reviews in a timely manner as detailed in a monthly Calendar; non-compliance may violate IATF 16949 clause 7.3.2.
• May be given authority within job scope by Manager.
• Each employee has the authority to initiate action to prevent a violation of the Tenneco Integrity Policy.
• All employees will abide by plant safety policy, ensure compliance with legal requirements, and adhere to ISO 14001; report any non-conforming activity.

• All employees will abide by the plant’s safety policy, comply with the legal and other requirements and operational controls established, work toward achieving established objectives and targets, and conform to procedures consistent with the ISO 14001 standard. An employee should report, and if necessary, stop any activity that does not conform to the policy or may injure himself/herself.
• Capable of providing support as requested by Manager.
