Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Production Supervisor to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading production teams to achieve operational excellence. This individual will ensure that our production process runs smoothly, efficiently, and meets all safety and quality standards. The Production Supervisor will play a key role in optimizing productivity, fostering continuous improvement, and driving the success of the production floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead & Inspire Production Teams:
    • Lead a high-performing team, providing clear direction, motivation, and development opportunities.
    • Supervise, coach, and mentor production staff to meet performance goals and maintain high morale.
    • Address performance challenges promptly and effectively, fostering a positive work culture.
  • Achieve Production Targets:
    • Oversee daily production operations to meet output, quality, and efficiency goals.
    • Monitor workflow and adjust resources or processes as needed to ensure timely product delivery.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align production schedules with business objectives.
  • Drive Quality & Process Improvement:
    • Ensure adherence to strict quality standards, conducting inspections and audits to ensure high-quality outputs.
    • Implement continuous improvement strategies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
    • Actively identify areas for process optimization and lead initiatives to improve production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain Safety & Compliance Standards:
    • Enforce a safe working environment, ensuring that all staff comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Lead safety training, risk assessments, and incident investigations to prevent workplace hazards.
    • Ensure all operations comply with legal and company-specific standards and best practices.
  • Utilize Data to Drive Performance:
    • Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor production effectiveness, troubleshoot issues, and report progress.
    • Generate and analyze reports related to production metrics, downtime, and waste, providing actionable insights to management.
    • Work closely with other departments, such as maintenance and logistics, to resolve production issues efficiently.
  • Optimize Equipment & Resource Management:
    • Oversee the effective use of machinery, tools, and other resources, ensuring equipment is maintained to minimize downtime.
    • Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure timely repairs and preventative maintenance schedules.
    • Monitor raw material inventory levels and ensure the timely procurement of materials to avoid production delays.
  • Foster Collaboration and Communication:
    • Promote open communication across all shifts and teams, ensuring alignment on production goals and challenges.
    • Provide detailed shift reports and updates to senior management regarding production performance.
    • Serve as a liaison between upper management and production teams, relaying information on production issues, successes, and resource needs.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field . Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Experience:
    • At least 5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment with a minimum of 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
    • Demonstrated experience in leading teams, managing complex production schedules, and driving operational efficiency.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate, engage, and develop production teams.
    • Advanced understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and lean methodologies.
    • Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Proficiency with manufacturing software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Certifications ( but not required):
    • Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) or similar continuous improvement certifications.
    • OSHA or other safety-related certifications.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the production floor for long periods.
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Comfortable working in an industrial environment with exposure to manufacturing equipment and machinery
