Garrett Container Systems, Inc. (GCS) , headquartered in Accident, Maryland, is a leading manufacturer of reusable aluminum storage and shipping containers. As an ISO and HUBZone certified small business, GCS specializes in custom-engineered, airtight welded containers designed to transport mission-critical equipment worldwide.

In 2022, GCS joined Albers Aerospace, expanding its capabilities and reach within the defense industry.

Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting the daily operations of the manufacturing floor to ensure productivity, quality, and safety targets are met. This role oversees production staff, coordinates schedules and resources, and ensures that all activities comply with ISO standards, company policies, and safety regulations.

The Production Supervisor plays a key role in facilitating workflow, mentoring team leads and shop personnel and supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance performance and efficiency across production lines.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations of the production floor, ensuring efficient workflow and achievement of production targets.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to team leads and shop employees to drive performance and maintain quality standards.
  • Monitor production schedules, work orders, and material requirements to align resources appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including timekeeping, material usage, and shipping documentation.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., maintenance, supply chain, and quality) to resolve production issues and optimize processes.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture; ensure compliance with safety policies and industry regulations.
  • Support On-the-Job (OJT) training and development programs in line with ISO/AS9100 standards.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and waste minimization.
  • Recommend equipment and material needs; support acquisition and maintenance efforts.
  • Lead by example with professionalism, ethical conduct, and positive team engagement.
  • Participate in cross-site coordination and communication, supporting unified operational goals across facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or technical degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong understanding of production workflows, materials, and industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100 standards and workplace safety regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 suite and capable of maintaining detailed records.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and time management skills.
  • Problem-solving ability with a focus on operational excellence and team development.

This position is based in a warehouse setting where teamwork and efficiency are essential.

Shift:

Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM-4:30 PM
