Job summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Production Specialist to join our food-processing team in Fruitland, Idaho. The swing shift runs 4:00pm–12:00am, with pay starting at $14.35 per hour.

The role involves supporting production lines, trimming onion tops, tails, and peels, inspecting for defects and moving products through the topping/tailer machines. Duties include cutting unusable parts, re-circulating onions through the repeeler, inspecting for brown or green pieces, and removing

• Able to stand for long periods and work in wet, hot/cold conditions.

Responsibilities

• Cut tops, tails, and peels off onions from the machine for cleanliness.
• Discard unusable parts of onions and recirculate through repeeler.
• Place onions in pockets along the topper/tailer belt, on or above standard.
• Inspect for brown, clumpy, green, or unusable pieces and discard as needed.
• Recover good product from trash and keep waste minimal.
• Perform light sanitation and keep GMP and safety standards.

Job Summary
Employee is responsible for working production, duties including trimming onion tops, tails, and peels, inspecting onions and peppers for defects, and removing defects and/or placing onions in pockets of topper/tailer machines in a safe and efficient manner.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Cut tops, tails, and peels off of onions that come out of the machine and are not sufficiently clean
• Cut only unusable parts of onions off of the onion
• Re-circulate onions through the repeeler machine
• Place onions in pockets along the moving belt on the topper/tailer machine at or better than standard
• Inspect and discard any brown, clumpy, green, or otherwise unusable onion pieces
• Only discard the bad products and keep good product waste to a minimum
• Recover any good product from the trash belt
• Complete light sanitation duties (wash buckets, pick up onions off of the floor, clean belts, etc ) as directed by floor lead
• Follow all GMP standards and safety standards while performing job duties
• Rotate through positions or stay in positions according to the Floor Lead’s discretion
• Maintain good personal hygiene, follow GMP and keep a clean, safe, and sanitary workplace. Immediately report any situation that may cause the product to be contaminated.
• Knowledge of food industry regulations understands and is compliant with GMP standards
• Able to perform essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy
• Able to travel to all areas of the plant efficiently, including climbing stairs
• Must be able to work effectively and safely in a wet and hot/cold environment
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
