Job summary

International-Wire-Group in Canastota, NY is seeking a Plant Supervisor to lead production operations, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met while driving continuous improvement.

The role requires a technical or engineering degree (or equivalent) with 1–3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing; Lean experience is preferred. Strong leadership and communication abilities are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising production operations to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Inventory goals.
• Lean Manufacturing principles experience is preferred.
• Well organized with ability to manage multiple tasks and problem solve.
• Effective verbal and written communication with direct and indirect workforce.
• Familiarity with the company planning and scheduling system.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise production operations to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory goals for the department and shift assigned.
• Coordinate production activities through planning with Superintendents and/or Plant Managers to ensure objectives are accomplished on time and cost-effectively.
• Follow Leader Standard Work and Daily Schedule.
• Support customer requests and work to identify and eliminate root causes to defective product.
• Ensure operators are trained and certified to perform tasks and objectives.
• Provide leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives.
• Lead with integrity and earn respect and trust from operators.
• Ensure operators are engaged, developing skills, and taking ownership of their responsibilities.
• Ensure the department is organized and clean.
• Implement and maintain Lean Manufacturing methods and tools.

• Experience with implementing Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
• Must be a well-organized individual that can manage multiple tasks and problem solve.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with both the direct and indirect workforce.
• Should have working experience with the company planning and scheduling system.
