Job summary

Evonik is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead operations on the plant floor. You will supervise personnel, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and guide Chemical Operators in the running of process equipment and systems such as DCS/HMI and SAP.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, communication, and timely decision-making to meet production targets and maintain a safe, efficient operation.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma/GED with 5+ years in plant operations or engineering degree with 3+ years.
  • Minimum of 3 years of strong leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional organization and time management abilities.
  • Leadership skills: decision-making, motivation and goal-setting.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively.
  • Technical process knowledge: read P&ID, perform DCS operation, basic equipment knowledge.
  • Expertise in safety regulations and permitting.
  • Comfortable with MS Office, SAP, DCS/HMI.
  • Basic math skills.

  • Supervises employees using machinery or equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, and other steps along a production line.
  • Ensures a safe and healthy work environment through vigilant enforcement of all applicable laws and regulation, including Evonik EHSQ and other policies.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Chemical Operators in the operation of manufacturing process equipment.
  • Responsible for oversight of productivity on shift to achieve production targets.
  • Communicate appropriate information to the Production Manager and Engineers.
  • Organize shift schedules for team members and monitoring coverage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIREMENTS
  • HS Diploma/GED plus Five years or greater working in plant operations OR an Engineering degree in mechanical, chemical or industrial plus 3 years of experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of Strong Leadership Experience is a MUST
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Exceptional organization and time management abilities

  • Technical process knowledge. Able to read P&ID, perform DCS operation, basic equipment knowledge and possess the ability to learn the plant operations.
  • Expertise in safety regulations and permitting.
  • Comfortable with workplace technology like Microsoft Office applications, SAP, DCS/ HMI and other software
  • Basic math skills
Compensation & Benefits

Summary Compensation & Benefits: Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. (Specific rate to be determined, but not limited to, geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).

Pay Range: $74,900 - $124,800
