Production Scheduling & Logistics Coordinator TP Engineering – Danbury, CT | Full-Time | On-Site

We are a Certified Connecticut Small Business Enterprise precision machine shop & manufacturing company based in Connecticut with a close-knit team and a hands-on work environment. Every person here wears multiple hats and plays a direct role in our success. We’re looking for a dependable, organized self-starter to coordinate our shipping and receiving, production scheduling, and purchasing activities.

About the Role

This role is the operational hub of our plant. You’ll manage day-to-day shipping and receiving, build and maintain our production schedules, and support maintenance planning. You’ll also place purchase orders with vendors and communicate regularly with customers and suppliers by phone and email. The right candidate is comfortable working independently, keeping things moving without being told, and enjoys the variety that comes with a small-company environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all shipping and receiving activities, including preparing shipping documents, scheduling carriers, and verifying incoming materials
  • Create and maintain production schedules to keep jobs on track and on time
  • Support scheduling of equipment and facility maintenance
  • Place and track purchase orders with vendors and suppliers
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, and carriers by phone and email in a clear, professional manner
  • Maintain accurate records in Excel, Word, and QuickBooks
  • Work closely with production staff and management to resolve scheduling conflicts and material shortages
Required Qualifications
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and QuickBooks
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with production scheduling
  • Comfortable handling shipping and receiving duties
  • Experience placing and managing purchase orders
  • Strong verbal communication skills — able to converse professionally over the phone in English
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-starter with a strong individual work ethic who also works well within a team
  • Comfortable in a small-company environment where flexibility and initiative are essential
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001)
