Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products LLC in Zachary, LA, is seeking a Production Scheduler to develop and execute optimized finite-capacity production plans across machines and lines. You will liaise between Sales, Master Scheduling and Manufacturing to align priorities, remove obstacles, and maximize throughput.

You will own daily/weekly schedules, monitor progress, and drive corrective actions. This role requires experience in manufacturing scheduling, strong analytical skills, and familiarity

Qualifications

• Experience in production scheduling, planning in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with scheduling tools and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Infor, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and execute finite-capacity production schedules to meet demand and targets.
• Serve as the liaison between Sales/Customer Service, Master Scheduling, and Manufacturing.
• Own daily and weekly production plans; monitor progress and coordinate actions.
• Review schedules in daily huddle and weekly planning sessions; adjust as needed.
• Optimize run lengths and reduce changeovers by balancing priorities and constraints.
• Monitor plans and communicate changes to affected teams; ensure documentation.
• Identify material shortages and coordinate with planning/procurement to close gaps.
• Maintain accuracy of system parameters, routings, calendars, and changeover times.
• Identify slow-moving inventory and support disposition strategies to reduce waste.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives (SMED, line efficiency, yield).
• Ensure safety, environmental, and quality standards in scheduling decisions.
• Prepare and present schedule performance reports to stakeholders.
