Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products LLC in Zachary, Louisiana, seeks a Production Scheduler to create optimized finite-machine schedules that meet demand and plant goals. You will act as the liaison between commercial/master scheduling and manufacturing operations, owning daily/weekly production plans and driving improvements.

You will monitor progress, remove obstacles, and coordinate corrective actions while ensuring safety and quality in all scheduling decisions.

Qualifications

Experience in production scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with scheduling tools (AspenTech, Quintiq, Optessa, Preactor) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Infor).
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.

Responsibilities

Create, maintain, and execute finite-capacity production schedules across machines and lines.
Serve as the liaison between Sales/Customer Service, Master Scheduling, and Manufacturing.
Own daily and weekly production plans: monitor progress and coordinate corrective actions.
Conduct regular schedule-review cadences to review production results and adjust plans.
Optimize run lengths and minimize changeovers by balancing SKU priorities and machine constraints.
Monitor and communicate production plans to affected teams; document changes.
Identify material shortages and work with Planning/Procurement to close supply gaps.
Maintain accuracy of system parameters, routings, and calendars for realistic plans.
Identify slow-moving inventories and support disposition strategies to reduce costs.
Support continuous improvement initiatives (SMED/changeover reduction, line efficiency).
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
