Job summary

Chicago Tube & Iron is seeking a Scheduling Clerk to help keep our production processes running smoothly at CTI. In this role you will enter and close sales orders, create production jobs, print travelers, and manage backorders while ensuring data accuracy across the shop floor.

You will coordinate material movement, process transfer orders, and support quality and inventory controls. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in manufacturing, strong organization, and proficiency with MRP/ERP systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience using an MRP/ERP system.
• Familiarity with CAD/SolidWorks and reading technical drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, email).
• Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Enter and close sales orders, create production jobs, print job travelers, and manage backorders.
• Review production job packets to verify information and support efficient manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate material movement, process transfer orders, and inventory adjustments.
• Support quality & inventory control with buybacks and vendor returns coordination.
• Track inventory transactions and ensure completion on time.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Purchasing and other departments to resolve issues.
