Job summary

Nucor Buildings Group is seeking a Production Scheduler at our IL division. The role involves developing production schedules, interpreting blueprints, and coordinating routing across multiple departments to ensure on-time fabrication and delivery.

  • Base hourly rate range for this position is $30.45 - $38.86
  • This position is eligible for annual bonuses
  • Annual return on assests bonus percentage (ROA) (5 Year average) - 20.7% of eligible earnings
  • Annual profit sharing bonus percentage (5 Year average) = 20.4% of eligible earnings
Basic Job Functions:

As aProduction Schedulerkey responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform routine clerical duties in receiving, sorting, processing, and distributing to the appropriate department tallies, addendums, and blueprints.
  • Interpret prints to determine proper size and quantity of material to minimize drop, originates requisitions, and develops production schedules for each production department.
  • Determine proper quantities of cold-formed members to be run and inputs required information into computer for transfer to terminal in purlin department.
  • Provide additional support through the routing of parts to the purlin department and processing of requisitions for the panel and flashing departments.
  • Review tallies to determine that correct quantity of components for orders has been listed. Documents receiving of addendums and matches with proper job.
  • Performs other clerical duties as required in the event of fellow teammate absences.
  • Work under general supervision of Production Control Supervisor, following established procedures.
  • Communicate with supervisors, group leaders, purchasing personnel, and other clerks as required in performing their daily duties.
  • Running jobs; making copies of released jobs for multiple areas and positions in the plant for production.
  • Component / QSR distribution; copying and distributing information related to component and QSR orders so that they can be produced in a timely fashion.
  • Miscellaneous reporting; production reports to MBMA, bonus reports, piece counts etc. Various production reports used to identify and track trends and information related to production.
  • Create part tags: tags used to identify individual project parts and or pieces generatired from SICM.
  • Responding to routing appropriately
  • Placing routings in fabricatioin schedules in a timely manner
  • Running production and deliverables meetings, as well as attending appropriate division meetings
  • Effectively communicaiting with production control and purchasing teammares about routings
  • Creating the production and routing schedule
  • Fill in where necessary. Assist with coverage in similar administration like positions thorughout the office. Performs other related duties as required and directed.

  • Understanding and Reading Blueprints
  • Must have experience with AI, Coding, and or Software System Programming
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Safety– Demonstrate a commitment to safety in all job aspects.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with BOMS, SICM, PITTS, Cold Form Release, and Weld Inspection software
  • Understanding the capabilities of machinery and equipment as well as production processes and materials used in fabricating the company’s products.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
