Job summary

Nucor Buildings Group is seeking a Warehouse Packer to support dispatch, scheduling, and delivery coordination. You will work closely with managers, carriers and the shipping team to ensure on-time product deliveries and DOT compliance.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety, using Office tools, and assisting with coverage across the shipping/receiving functions. A high school diploma is required and prior warehouse experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with minimum supervision.
  • Experience dealing with carriers and customers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety rules and company guidelines for dispatching and scheduling transportation.
  • Communicate with managers and departments regarding deliveries and schedules.
  • Coordinate with leaders for daily performance
  • Manage customer delivery requirements to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Facilitate and monitor Electronic Logging Device and DOT requirements.
  • Provide support in shipping and receiving.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assist in coverage.
  • Work under supervision of Shipping Supervisor and follow procedures.
  • Maintain daily communication with team members.
  • Fill in and support in similar office roles as needed.

Teammates in this position average around $50k-$60k a year.

Bonus Type: This position is eligible for weekly and annual bonuses.

All Nucor teammates qualify for profit sharing.

Annual Profit Sharing Bonus Percentage (5 year average) = 20% of eligible earnings

Compensation for this position BEFORE our bonus structure is $14.85 - $16.71.

Basic Job Functions:

As a Warehouse Packer key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure compliance with all safety rules, regulations, and company guidelines regarding the dispatching and scheduling of transportation needs.
  • Communicate with managers, supervisors, group leaders, and other departments relating to product deliveries and schedules.
  • Coordinate with managers, supervisors, group leaders, and other departments relating to performance for all daily duties.
  • Manage customer delivery requirements to ensure ABCIL products are delivered on time.
  • Facilitate and monitor the use of the Electronic Logging Device and other DOT requirements.
  • Provide additional support throughout the shipping and receiving department.
  • Performs other clerical duties as required in the event of fellow teammate absences.
  • Work under general supervision of Shipping Supervisor, following established procedures.
  • Communicate with supervisors, group leaders, shipping teammates, and other ABCIL teammates as required in performing their daily duties.
  • Fill in where necessary. Assist with coverage in similar administration like positions throughout the office. Performs other related duties as required and directed.

  • Computers and Electronics – Knowledge of computers, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Safety – Demonstrate a commitment to safety in all job aspects.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiar with SAP, Bombs, Carrier Point TMS, BNSF, Shipware, Scanware and ROSS systems
  • Understanding of DOT guidelines and regulations
  • Ability to think, react quickly and make corrective actions as needed
  • Prior experience in a warehouse and or manufacturing environment
