Job summary

Brunswick Corporation's Mercury Marine division seeks an Inventory Control Analyst/Supply Chain Planner in Fond du Lac, WI. The role blends production scheduling with inventory control to ensure on-time delivery and optimized stock, supporting manufacturing of marine propulsion products and related materials.

The candidate will lead cross-functional teams, manage Kanban/PFEP driven inventory, analyze demand, and drive continuous improvements on the floor and in administrative tasks.

Position Overview: As a key member of our Supply Chain team, you will play a dual role that blends production scheduling with critical inventory control responsibilities. In the scheduling function, you will analyze demand, coordinate material flow, and schedule components across multiple manufacturing operations—leveraging Lean Manufacturing principles to ensure on-time delivery and optimal inventory levels. In your role as an Inventory Control Analyst, you will work both collaboratively and independently alongside experienced materials and logistics professionals. Together, you will support internal logistics activities that are essential to the production of outboard and sterndrive motors for the recreational boating industry.

Essential Functions:
  • Expedite materials from their respective sources: Interplant, purchasing, vendor and engineering.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and resolve problems with receiving, inspection, purchasing, machine centers, assembly, high performance, service, manufacturing engineers, industrial engineers, vendors, and product change (MPE/BOM).
  • Execute, document, and distribute reports daily, to be used as tools for decision making by production personnel and manufacturing analyst/schedulers.
  • Coordinate delivery of products to our customers
  • Drive root cause analysis and problems solving individually and within cross-functional teams.
  • Typically spends 25% of time on the floor in direct supervision of daily production / 50% of time on the floor addressing inventory integrity, and 25% of time on administrative and project tasks
  • Analyze current material flow within a process or operation to develop and implement improvements, eliminating waste, and streamlining the operations.
  • Initiate corrective actions as needed to ensure accurate and effective inventory control.
  • Collaborate with your peers to develop cost-effective inventory management practices.
  • Control inventory levels through the various systems in use (Kanban, Pull, PIMS) by managing order rules, processes, etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory levels sufficient to meet customer demand while assuring maximum inventory turns.
  • Analyzes actual product demand, trends, and forecasts and adjusts inventory plans accordingly.

Required Qualifications:
  • Materials management and/or supply chain experience.
  • Strong Cross-Functional/Team Leadership and Communication Skills.
  • Good Organization skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Technical and logical capability to solve problems.
  • Must be able to coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Business, Operation or Supply Chain Management preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Kanban replenishment and PFEP methodology.
  • Knowledge in Lean Six Sigma methodology.
  • Leadership & project management skills.
  • Knowledge of mainframe/ERP systems are desirable.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and APICS certification is desirable.
  • Knowledge and comprehension of bills of material.
Working Conditions:
  • The ability to work in an unsupervised environment.
  • May need to move around to different locations throughout the day.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $54,300 - $75,400 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
