Responsibilities

• Forklift Operators – Deliver large parts using a powered industrial truck to operations throughout Plant 15, following safety rules and 5S+1 principles.
• Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse – Replenish parts from offsite warehouses to support daily functions; receive, ship, and maintain internal delivery points.
• Metal Pouring – Operate induction furnace, fill with return/ingots, take temperatures, remove slag, move props to bins, follow safety rules.

Essential FunctionsThe Support Tech III job class includes a variety of roles. These include operating a forklift supporting various manufacturing operations and assisting in the pouring of metal castings. There are also a variety of warehouse roles including receiving, shipping, and warehouse operations. These roles use both forklifts and narrow aisle lift trucks to support various manufacturing operations.

Daily tasks include indirect support of manufacturing operations for large and small part replenishment to the various work centers. Equipment used to support manufacturing includes sit down and powered delivery carts, and some manual lifting devices. Support Tech III employees are expected to participate in daily 5S+1 activities maintaining a clean and organized work area to promote a safe work environment.

Support Tech III roles are critical to our company’s success as they keeping a good manufacturing flow to meet daily production goals.

Duties And ResponsibilitiesForklift Operators – Delivery of large parts utilizing a powered industrial truck to various operations throughout Plant 15. Operators work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment utilizing radio communication and Mercury’s material replenishment system to deliver parts throughout the plant as requested to meet daily production needs. All drivers are expected to follow plant safety rules while maintaining a clean and organized work area utilizing 5S+1 principles. Operators will be required to support various quality and productivity activities on an as needed basis. Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse Operations – Replenishment of parts utilizing a variety of equipment to/from our offsite warehouses to support daily manufacturing functions. Operators work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment using a variety of communication means to move parts to/from our offsite warehouses and throughout or main assembly plant. Responsibilities include receiving parts from our offsite warehouses utilizing Mercury’s material flow systems, shipping excess parts to our offsite warehouses, and maintaining markets to support internal delivery needs. All employees are expected to follow plant safety rules while maintaining a clean and organized work area utilizing 5S+1 principles. Operators will be required to support various quality and productivity activities on an as needed basis. Metal Pouring Operations – Pouring operations include reviewing and completing documentation; operating the induction furnace, including filling with return and ingots, taking temperature readings, and removing slag; loading/unloading the furnace using the ladle; and moving props from the cart to the bins. All employees are expected to follow plant safety rules while maintaining a clean and organized work area utilizing 5S+1 principles. Operators will be required to support various quality and productivity activities on an as needed basis.

Experience And SkillsAbility to drive material delivery equipment is a manufacturing environment, training and certification will be provided. Prior forklift experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus but not required. General computer skills will be required for all Support Tech III jobs; training will be provided for the systems used within our operations. Prior experience using a Kanban delivery system is a plus but not required.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $27.22-$30.79, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
