Job summary

Diamond C in Mt. Pleasant, TX is seeking a Production Scheduler to translate master plans into actionable shop-floor schedules. You will create daily and weekly schedules, coordinating with operations to align material availability, capacity, and priorities with shipping targets.

This role involves significant shop-floor time and ERP system use (DelmiaWorks), collaborating with planners, weld/fabrication, and purchasing to prevent bottlenecks and optimize throughput. Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience.
  • Forklift certification required or able to obtain.
  • Process-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient with ERP/production scheduling software.
  • Spanish language skills preferred.
  • Experience in multi-site operations.

Responsibilities

  • Convert the master production plan (MPP) into daily production schedules.
  • Schedule by trailer model, option group, or configurations.
  • Consider labor, capacity, setup times, and bottlenecks.
  • Ensure optimal use of time, space, and personnel in assembly.
  • Monitor progress and adjust the schedule in real time.
  • Input work orders and routings in the ERP system (DelmiaWorks).
  • Attend daily Gemba walks and stand-up huddles.
  • Collaborate with planners, FIRE, and inventory control.
  • Spend at least one hour per day on the shop floor coordinating.

Shift & Schedule Vary : Day, Monday-Thursday 5:00a-3:30p

The Production Scheduler will collaborate with operations leadership to maintain daily and weekly production schedules . Coordinates the strategic organization and arrangement of work orders to efficiently utilize the same raw materials. This position typically spends 75% of work time on the production floor and 25% of work time in an office environment.

The Production Scheduler is responsible for translating high-level production plans into

executable, time-bound shop floor schedules. This role ensures that each department has a clear, actionable schedule aligned with material availability, capacity constraints, and customer priorities.

In a high-mix environment like trailer manufacturing, the scheduler plays a vital role in

managing complexity, preventing bottlenecks, and adapting plans quickly when materials are

delayed or priorities shift.

Core Responsibilities
Daily & Weekly Schedule Creation

Convert the master production plan (MPP) into daily production schedules at the station

Schedule builds by trailer model, option group, or customer-specific configurations.

Consider labor availability, station capacity, setup times, and downstream bottlenecks.

Ensure optimal use of time, space, and personnel in assembly areas.

Real-Time Schedule Management
  • Monitor progress throughout the day and adjust the schedule dynamically in response to: Missing or delayed materials
    • Equipment breakdowns
    • Staffing shortages or overtime needs
    • Quality holdups or rework loops
  • Communicate changes to station leads and the Planning Lead to ensure alignment.
ERP Scheduling Maintenance

Input or adjust work orders, production routings, and sequencing in the ERP system (e.g., DelmiaWorks).

Coordinate closely with planners, FIRE, and inventory control to ensure all parts are available before scheduling.

  • Attend and contribute to daily Gemba walks, stand-up huddles, and hot list meetings.
  • Share updated schedules with:
    • Weld & fabrication supervisors
    • Assembly station leads
    • Stacking/shipping teams
    • Purchasing team (to escal...
  • Schedulers will spend no less than one hour per day, on the shop floor, coordinating with the Planner and FIRE.
  • Collaborate with Quality if workstations require time blocked out for inspections or rework.
Performance Monitoring Troubleshooting

Monitor schedule attainment and report variances with explanations.

Root-cause missed builds (e.g., late material delivery, labor shortage, excessive

downtime).

Implement short-interval scheduling tools (hour-by-hour boards, takt boards) if necessary.

Support post-mortem reviews on missed production goals and help recommend corrective

actions.

Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years manufacturing environment.

Holds or can acquire a forklift certification.

Process oriented.

Able to navigate computer software

Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
