Job summary

PLZ Corp in Missouri is seeking a Production Scheduler to develop, manage, and optimize daily production schedules across multiple product groups, aligning materials, capacity, and customer commitments with the Sales and Operations Planning process.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, inventory, and logistics teams, monitor plan attainment, and leverage ERP tools to ensure on-time, cost-effective fulfillment.

Qualifications

  • Zero to five years of scheduling experience or similar role.
  • BA/BS Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Operations Research preferred.
  • Process management experience in manufacturing processes, productivity and efficiency measurements.
  • Zero to five years of MRP/ERP system experience, including SAP/APO preferred.
  • Product development experience preferred with an understanding of product life cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, prepare, and maintain production schedules that guide daily production activities, align resources, maximize efficiency, and support output and timeline objectives.
  • Gather and validate scheduling inputs from internal teams, including materials, inventory levels, resource availability, equipment capacity, and customer delivery commitments.
  • Monitor daily production results, schedule attainment, material flow, and resource constraints to identify risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for corrective action.
  • Revise production schedules in response to changes in materials, designs, equipment, staffing, capacity, customer demand, or other production resources.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, inventory control, customer service, sales, and other cross-functional partners to ensure schedules are realistic, communicated, and executable.
  • Utilize ERP systems, planning and scheduling software, and database tools to develop and maintain master schedules, update production data, and generate schedule-related reporting.
  • Analyze material availability, inventory levels, production capacity, and delivery commitments to support efficient scheduling decisions and timely customer fulfillment.
  • Communicate schedule changes, constraints, and production priorities to appropriate stakeholders to support alignment across planning and manufacturing operations.
  • Gain exposure to increasingly complex tasks within the production scheduling function, including cross-functional coordination, and schedule analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Production Scheduler works with various demand signals to develop and manage the daily production schedule while considering current inventory, lead times, product life cycles and production capacity. This position will also manage and implement the production scheduling plan for multiple product groups, ensuring customer needs are met in a timely and cost-conscious manner within the framework of the Sales and Operations Planning process.

Key Responsibility:
