D.W. Distribution, an SBP brand is currently hiring for a Production Scheduler in our Door Fabrication facility in Lancaster, TX. The production scheduler oversees all of the daily activities of printing work orders for the door fabrication department. The scheduler works closely with sales order entry and, the production managers making order corrections and moving orders in the schedule to level out the production schedule. Works with system driven reports and queries. The scheduler also enters transfer purchase orders for non-stock items at the fabrication plant.
Production Scheduling
• Monitors relevant data for production scheduling, including orders, machinery, and inventory
• Confirms production order closing
• Conducts daily inventory of materials needed for production scheduling
• Determine utilization of machinery and processes to produce parts and optimizes the use of time and resources
• Track production numbers and anticipate problems that could affect the schedule or delivery of product
• Manages system data entry and reporting, including order entries, delivery data, labeling, purchase order creation, and closing orders
• Creates production orders for the DDF
• Orders various materials when needed, verifies raw material in transit and escalates delivery when necessary
Department Management
• Conducts all recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating of department staff members.
• Establishes and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department's objectives and to support our financial reporting environment.
• Continuously improves the department’s function, including the development of staff by providing effective coaching and feedback as well as appropriate delegation to staff members; assists with administering annual reviews.
General and Administrative
• Supports the corporate vision, mission and values
• Communicates effectively with management across the organization
• Complies with all OSHA safety requirements, work rules and regulations
• Compiles and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
• Follows systems and procedures outlined in company manuals
• Participates as a team player by supporting operations as needed
• All other duties as requested by management
Qualifications
Formal Education and Certification
• Associates degree from an accredited institution (preferred)
Knowledge and Experience
• Minimum of 2-3 years in production scheduling or purchasing experience
• Knowledge of the building supply and millwork industry is highly preferable
• Computer skills and proficiency required
Personal Attributes
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, possessing an ability to work with a diverse population
• Proven skills in negotiation
• Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team
• Desire to serve
