Job summary

Charlie’s Produce is seeking a Production Assistant Manager to supervise production and repack operations, train staff, and ensure accurate documentation of processes and performance. The role emphasizes food safety, QA, and adherence to HACCP/GMP standards in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate will assist the Production Manager, manage daily production goals, and uphold sanitation and safety protocols while coordinating with other departments on ongoing projects.

Qualifications

• Must have high school education or equivalent and related experience.
• Ability to read/write/record data and perform mathematical calculations.
• Strong written and verbal communication to direct a diverse team.
• Attendance reliability and flexible scheduling.
• Follow Safety policies and report unsafe conditions.
• Experience in food item preparation is preferred.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions.
• Able to work in restricted spaces with variable temps and ventilation.
• At least 2 years in Production and Processing leadership roles.
• Intermediate Word and Excel skills for reporting and correspondence.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise production and repack staff to meet daily production targets.
• Train staff on machinery usage and production methods.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP and GMP regulations.
• Maintain accurate documentation on performance and equipment use.
• Oversee safety and sanitation guidelines across the department.
• Manage timecards and wage/hour duties.
• Coordinate with other departments on value-added projects.
• Cover for Production Manager when needed.
