Finer Recruiting is presenting a Site Reliability Engineer opportunity for a boutique investment firm in New York. You will own the production reliability across applications, data pipelines, and trading systems, working directly with the CTO in a hands-on environment.

The role requires strong Linux, Python, and scripting skills, plus experience building monitoring and cloud operations on Azure/AWS/GCP. You’ll join a small team and contribute to AI tools and data infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of hands-on Site Reliability/Infrastructure engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Linux, shell scripting and cron.
• Strong Python skills to read, debug, and patch production code.
• Experience building monitoring, alerting, logging, or tracing capabilities, not only operating.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• On-call or incident response experience with ownership from detection to postmortem.
• Ability to work independently in a small technology team.

Responsabilités

• Own day-to-day reliability of production applications, data pipelines, AI tools, and trading-related systems.
• Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing across the tech environment.
• Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot late or missing data, failed dependencies, retries, and reruns.
• Serve as the first line of technical support for the firm’s trading systems.
• Diagnose and resolve production incidents across apps, infra, data, and integrations.
• Read, debug, and patch production Python code when issues arise.
• Support Linux-based apps, shell scripts, cron jobs, and scheduled processes.
• Operate apps and data workflows across Azure and AWS.
• Support deployments, backups, DB connections, performance issues, and cloud ops.
• Monitor and troubleshoot LLM-backed apps, provider outages, rate limits, model changes, and token usage.
• Automate recurring ops and eliminate manual work.
• Build runbooks and docs for systems maintained by a small team.
• Communicate with investment, trading, operations, and leadership when issues arise.
