Job summary

The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc. in St. Petersburg, FL is seeking a Quality Engineer 2 to ensure products meet the highest quality standards. You will investigate issues, review SOW/RFPs, design plans, and procedures to understand scope and function of products.

Responsibilities include supporting customers and internal teams, improving processes to reduce defects, and performing root cause analysis with corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in quality engineering or a related engineering role.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and quality standards (ISO 9001:2015, AS9100).

  • Provide technical assistance and support to customers, suppliers, and employees in resolving issues.
  • Assist in improving manufacturing, process, and product efficiency to reduce nonconforming products.
  • Ensure products meet the organization's quality and product integrity requirements.
  • Support product development or operations by providing analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to determine root causes of failures.
  • Identify when failure analysis is necessary and recommend corrective actions.
  • Analyze data to identify trends in product quality or defects to mitigate recurrence.

Job Description Summary

A Quality Engineer 2 ensure that products meet the highest quality standards. Responsible for investigating and resolving issues. Reviews SOW (Statements of Work), RFP (Request for Proposals), design plans, process procedures, test procedures, and manuals, to understand the scope, requirements, and function of products.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance and support to customers, suppliers, and employees in resolving issues.

Salary

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $75,000.00 - $156,000.00 Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Union ranges will be in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement's approved rates by location and role.
