Job summary

HTGP in West Point, GA is seeking a Purchasing Assistant Manager to lead production item purchasing, budgeting, localization, and supplier selection. The role reports to the Purchasing Manager and oversees a small staff.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years in purchasing/SCM, strong negotiation and supplier management skills, and familiarity with U.S. regulations and SAP or similar systems. This on-site position supports mass production operations.

Qualifications

• Purchasing/SCM experience required.
• Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations required.
• Experience with Purchasing systems in US.
• Excellent oral communication and listening skills.
• Outstanding organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead purchasing activities for production items, including budget planning, localization, requisition review, supplier selection, and order follow-up.
• Report to Purchasing Manager and supervise assistants.
• Negotiate terms and conditions including material price with vendors.
• Coordinate new developing parts with vendors and localize.
• Maintain country of origin data for imported parts and assist with customs.
• Manage inventories of production parts and issue POs; travel for supplier visits as needed.
