Job summary

Nucor in Decatur, AL is seeking a Production Programmer to create nesting programs for hardware, shells, and materials for production needs. You will enter programs into ERP to support consumption and coordinate with the production control team to schedule work.

Responsibilities include verification and staging of raw materials, while maintaining strong safety, housekeeping, and accountability standards on the shop floor. Strong CNC, CAD, and office skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Safety, accountability and housekeeping standards are required.
• High School diploma or GED must be shown.
• ProNest, Alma Cam, or similar CNC nesting software proficiency.
• AutoCAD proficiency is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

The responsibilities of the Production Programmer include but are not limited to:

• Creating nesting programs for hardware, shells, etc in plate and coil for production needs.
• Entering those programs into the ERP software for consumption.
• Working with the production control team to manage schedule of production through the show.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• High School diploma or GED
• Proficient in ProNest, Alma Cam, or similar CNC part nesting software.
• Proficience in AutoCAD
• Profiency in Microsoft Office programs
