Job Title: Production Programmer

Pay Rate: $25/hour

Location: Onsite – Decatur, AL

Contract: 9 Months

Reports To: Production Control Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking a Production Programmer to support manufacturing operations by developing CNC nesting programs and coordinating production workflows. This hands-on role is responsible for creating optimized cutting programs, managing production schedules, and ensuring raw material readiness. The ideal candidate has experience with ProNest or similar software, a background in steel fabrication, and strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and optimize nesting programs for hardware, shells, and other components in plate and coil materials.
• Enter CNC programs into ERP systems for production use and material consumption tracking.
• Collaborate with the Production Control team to manage and adjust the production schedule.
• Verify and stage raw materials and consumables to ensure timely job execution.
• Utilize AutoCAD for part drawings and modifications as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of programs and production records.
• Assist with troubleshooting issues related to nesting, materials, or scheduling.

Required

• Proficiency in ProNest, Alma Cam, or other CNC nesting software.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred

• Experience with steel burn/laser tables.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication processes and procedures.
• Familiarity with production planning or tracking systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D-365) ERP system.
