Job summary

Dover Food Retail in the Richmond area is seeking a Manager of Production Planning to lead daily manufacturing planning, scheduling, and cross-functional collaboration to meet customer delivery targets.

The role requires strong ERP/MRP know-how, advanced Excel, and proven leadership in a shift-based manufacturing environment. You will oversee 17 direct reports and partner with Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years’ experience in manufacturing.
• 3-5+ years of leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Review production schedules to align with plant capacity and customer delivery.
• Direct, supervise, and train production staff, managing timekeeping and absenteeism.
• Lead all production control and planning activities to support operations and delivery requirements.
• Ensure materials, labor, and equipment are available for production runs.
• Track production status, identify delays, and adjust plans to maintain timely delivery.
• Maintain production standards, optimize workflows, and minimize costs.
• Collaborate with Sales, Business Units, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Operations to align objectives.
• Handle various projects as assigned.
