Job summary

voestalpine Railway Systems Nortrak LLC in Decatur, Illinois is seeking a Production Planning Coordinator to ensure the smooth flow of orders from planning through production to shipping. The role supervises Shipping and Receiving, manages materials, and drives cost-efficient production operations.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of manufacturing planning experience, SAP/ERP proficiency, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

Three to five years of experience in manufacturing production planning, scheduling, materials, logistics, shipping/receiving, or closely related operations role.
Experience leading or supervising employees; ability to provide clear direction and training.
Experience using an ERP/MRP system to manage work orders, inventory, BOMs, routings, and production schedules; SAP experience is strongly preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and related business systems; strong Excel skills desired.

Responsibilities

Coordinate planning across multiple departments to ensure delivery goals are realistic and up to date.
Provide day-to-day supervision and work direction to Shipping Coordinator and Material Handlers.
Maintain planning, shipping, receiving, and inventory records supporting traceability and audits.
Communicate expectations, priorities, material constraints, and shipment requirements clearly and promptly.
Develop and maintain processes to improve schedule attainment, inventory accuracy, and department productivity.
