Job description

Brighton, MI | On-site | Around $100,000 plus bonus

A well-established custom equipment manufacturer in Brighton, MI is hiring a Production Planning Analyst to own planning and scheduling for this site.

This is a job shop. Everything is quoted and built to order, so no two weeks look the same. The person in this seat takes the order book, the work centers, and a finite number of hours, and turns all of it into a schedule the floor can actually run.

What you will do
  • Build and maintain the production schedule, sequencing jobs across work centers against available hours and machine capacity
  • Translate customer required dates into a realistic plan by job, work center, and shift
  • Track machine loads and flag where the plan outruns capacity, then adjust before it turns into a missed date
  • Work daily with order entry, engineering, and procurement on incoming demand, process steps, and material timing
  • Give plant leadership and floor supervisors a clear work-to list, and rework it when a machine goes down or a job runs long
  • Own planning and scheduling inside the ERP and help shape how the function runs
  • Support on-time delivery, earned hours, and schedule adherence
What we are looking for
  • Production planning and scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment, with real ownership of a live schedule
  • Working knowledge of an ERP system for planning and scheduling
  • Strong analytical ability and comfort working with capacity, run times, and delivery dates
  • Someone who can adjust a plan when conditions change and explain what that means to the people affected
  • Willingness to work on-site and spend time on the production floor
Nice to have (not required)
  • Job shop, make-to-order, or engineered-to-order manufacturing
  • Custom equipment, fabrication, or machining background
  • Epicor, though strong experience in another ERP is welcome
  • Interest in growing into a broader planning and procurement leadership role
Compensation and benefits

Base salary around $100,000 depending on experience, plus a bonus tied to site performance. Medical, 401(k), vacation, and paid time off. Specifics are reviewed with candidates as conversations move forward.
