Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. in Newport News is seeking a production scheduling coordinator to plan, prepare, issue and control production schedules, coordinating material requirements to ensure smooth flow of parts.

You will advise on work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems, while coordinating with multiple departments to meet master schedules and delivery commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience.
• Equivalent to Bachelor's Degree: Associate's Degree or 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience.
• Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience.
• High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience.
• High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements.
• Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems.
• Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests based on a master production schedule.
• Coordinates interdepartmental activity with QA, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.
