Career Opportunity

The Production Planner will serve as the intermediary between elements of the supply chain and will be directly responsible for mill production schedules. You will orchestrate all supply chain efforts with logistics and customer service teams, creating and organizing the most efficient manufacturing schedules that maximize efficiency and productivity to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Make production scheduling and transportation decisions with a high degree of autonomy
  • Communicate production and logistics decisions with cross-functional stakeholders as necessary to ensure alignment
  • Continuously identify innovative ways to improve trim efficiency, reduce waste, and maximize machine utilization
  • Assist with on-time shipments to customers by scheduling machines for production runs
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with manufacturing personnel to ensure production runs are sequenced to meet customer/company objectives
  • Balance competing needs, metrics (i.e., trim efficiency, shipment time, freight loading optimization) and goals to arrive at the optimal scheduling and logistics solution for all parties
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly scheduling reports to measure performance and identify solutions to optimize efficiency when appropriate
  • Manage FIFO inventory for raw materials
  • Oversee clamp truck operators to ensure processes are in compliance
  • Manage month-end inventory reconciliation
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED – required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Previous experience in a planning & scheduling role
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize busy daily schedules
  • Related qualification (Materials requirement planning, inventory control, supply chain management) an advantage, but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience with scheduling tools and supply chain software
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate large amounts of data
  • Ability to make key decisions to resolve customer issues and deliver a solution
  • Possess effective communication skills to clearly convey priorities across different departments
  • APICS certification is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
