Job summary

Fleet Engineers in Muskegon, Michigan seeks a Production Planner to coordinate materials, inventory, and production schedules, supporting goals and deadlines. The role involves collaborating with departments to resolve constraints and communicating through Customer Service to the customer.

Responsibilities include planning using MRP, lead-time communication, solving shortages, monitoring subcontract orders, resolving inventory discrepancies, and driving process improvements with a focus on cost

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a manufacturing, inventory control, or scheduling environment.
• General knowledge of MRP and manufacturing principles.
• Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of employees.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, and determines priorities of job orders using MRP system.
• Determine realistic lead times and communicate to Customer Service.
• Work with department Leads to resolve labor and material shortages, backlogs, and schedule interruptions.
• Monitor subcontract job orders to ensure due dates are met.
• Research inventory discrepancies and coordinate with departments to resolve them.
• Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements.
• Manage inventory levels to minimize excess stock and reduce costs.
• Participate in daily production meetings.
• Assist in leading weekly Anticipated Shortage meetings.
• Coordinate with Quality, Procurement and Shipping to align deliverables.
