Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Production Planner for an onsite role in Sussex, WI. You will translate forecasts into master production schedules, align with procurement, and drive on‑time delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Youll work with engineering and quality teams to incorporate changes, manage KPIs, and continuously improve planning processes. This contract-to-hire role offers daytime hours and exposure to lean initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing and maintaining master production schedules (MPS).
• Ability to translate forecasts and orders into work orders and shop floor releases.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and drive planning decisions.
• Knowledge of inventory, material planning, and logistics principles.
• Understanding of S&OP processes and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proven ability to balance capacity, demand, and procurement constraints.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain master production schedules aligned with demand and capacity.
• Translate sales orders and forecasts into detailed work orders and releases.
• Sequence and prioritize production to minimize changeovers and optimize throughput.
• Adjust schedules in real time for downtime, shortages, or demand changes.
• Collaborate with procurement to ensure materials are available for production.
• Monitor MRP outputs, resolve shortages and excess inventory.
• Track finished goods inventory and replenishment triggers.
• Communicate schedule changes to stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Incorporate NPIs and engineering changes into the production schedule.
• Report KPIs such as OTD, schedule adherence, and efficiency.
• Identify bottlenecks and propose capacity adjustments.
