Job summary

WilliamsRDM, Inc. in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking a Production Planner to manage day-to-day tactical production control planning, scheduling, and monitoring of jobs to meet delivery dates.

You will develop and maintain the production schedule, drive material flow to the floor, and resolve schedule risks before they impact customers. The role collaborates with Purchasing, Inventory, Shipping/Receiving, Operations, Quality, and Contracts.

Qualifications

• At least five years of total manufacturing experience with a minimum of two years of directly related experience in production planning/scheduling.
• Manufacturing experience in machining and electro/mechanical assembly; preferably in lean manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of purchasing, inventory, and shipping/receiving processes and how they affect production schedules
• Experience using ERP and MRP software, ideally ECi M1 ERP system
• Demonstrated ability to drive schedule commitments across departments without direct authority

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and customer orders to evaluate delivery schedule requirements. Communicate any concerns to contracts.
• Create, release, and schedule production jobs for customer orders
• Create and schedule jobs for customer RMAs and returned material as they are received
• Regularly run the MRP tool, validate results, and create & schedule lower level jobs as needed
• Maintain and publish the production schedule, balancing job demand against available labor, equipment, and work center capacity
• Coordinate with Inventory and Shipping/Receiving to ensure on-time assembly kitting goals are met
• Provide regular reporting on schedule status, past-due and at-risk jobs, open shortages, and on-time delivery performance
• Communicate with Operations and Quality on requirements, schedule, status, and resource availability
