Job summary

Valmet in Federal Way, WA is seeking a Production Planner to coordinate production activities, prepare job folders, and maintain LN-based schedules. You’ll manage BOMs, routings, material requirements, and inventory, while collaborating with Operations, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, and Sales to minimize risks and improve ERP processes.

The role requires a degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with strong analytical and cross-functional communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing, supply chain, or related role.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems; Infor LN experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of BOMs, routings, production orders, and material requirements.
• Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate across Operations, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, and Sales.

Responsibilities

• Prepare job folders and production orders.
• Create and maintain BOMs and routings in LN.
• Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer requirements and shop capacity.
• Manage material requirements, shortages, and inventory transactions.
• Maintain accurate production and planning data in LN.
• Monitor backlog and job progress, identifying and escalating delivery risks.
• Coordinate with Operations, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, and Sales.
• Support continuous improvement of planning processes and ERP utilization.
