Job summary

Federal Signal Corporation is seeking a Production Planner to organize production according to demand and quality standards on site. You will optimize nesting of steel and material usage and ensure S&B materials are ordered and available.

The role focuses on efficient production flow and cost control in a hands-on manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Excel, math and statistics, and ERP systems (Epicor preferred), with strong communication and problem-solving

Qualifications

• Strong math and statistics skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
• Experience with production planning and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Use nesting software to create efficient layouts, reducing material scrap.
• Implement effective nesting strategies to maximize material yields and flow.
• Determine raw materials and material flow needed to cover production demand.
• Partner with machine operators on program performance and use feedback to improve quality.
• Maintain plate steel inventory accuracy following procedures.
• Release and communicate high priority service, warranty, or rework orders.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production scheduling, and Shear & Brake to align details and schedules.
• Plan and prioritize operations into Epicor to maximize performance and minimize delays.
• Coordinate production workflow for multiple products into Epicor.
• Update operations with new products and engineering revisions.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
