At United Precision Corporation (“UPC”), we are dedicated to fostering an environment in which all team members can perform to the best of their abilities and realize their true potential. Every team member plays an important role in our operations, and we value the abilities, experience, and background they bring to UPC. We recognize that only through our team members, who provide the services our customers rely on, can we continuously improve, grow, and create new opportunities in the years to come.

As the Production Planner/Expeditor, you will ensure our production processes are optimized, our supply chain is efficient, and we meet customer and delivery requirements. You will collaborate with multiple departments to attain overall planning objectives and understand UPC products and production processes as we continue to manufacture new and variable product lines. You will serve as the liaison between Engineering, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, and Production to ensure sales demand and production flow smoothly, and to address issues related to shortages, material/tool backlogs, design changes, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and monitor Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to manage the conversion and pipeline of forecasted to production orders (PDOs), analyze material consumption trends, and plan complex and long lead time items.
  • Generate SAP forecasts and reports by product groups and project codes to better assess demand and address areas for improvement in our processes and ensure that all downstream activities meet internal and external due dates.
  • Optimize production workflow to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize costs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that changes to production orders are communicated expeditiously to account for manufacturing capacity, machine output, material restrictions, and potential non-conformance issues.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing department to ensure inventory levels are maintained, statuses for supplier deliveries are uploaded in SAP, and that material deliveries are in line with production schedules.
  • For highly complex, expedited, or stalled orders, coordinate inter-departmental handoffs to ensure seamless material/product transfers and tracking of PDO stages.
  • Partner with Business Process Manager to enter customer requirements, PDOs, bill of materials (BOMs), and make updates to customer orders in SAP as needed.
  • Support the implementation of new ERP and planning systems and processes for real-time production tracking and reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
