Job summary

Reading Truck is seeking a Planner to manage production scheduling, MRP, work orders and inventory for multiple shop-floor cells. You will forecast demand, support internal operations, and liaise with sales, operations, purchasing, and engineering to meet delivery goals.

The role emphasizes data integrity, ERP usage, and collaboration across departments to optimize on-time delivery and minimize WIP.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years’ experience in planning/scheduling/MRP.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and functions is required.
• Training in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and generate manufacturing orders and work schedules for shop floor cells.
• Coordinate schedule changes with Master Scheduler and production.
• Maintain production planning systems and data accuracy for lead times.
• Review inventory, adjust cycles, and plan excess, obsolete items, or scrap.
• Collaborate with chassis pool and sales to keep chassis data updated.
• Use ERP and supporting worksheets for capacity planning and operations.
• Communicate rescheduling needs due to design changes or shortages.
• Coordinate with shipping/receiving to meet on-time delivery (OTD).
• Track KPIs for past due work orders and schedule attainment with countermeasures.
