Job summary

LG Energy Solution Michigan, Inc. is seeking a Production Planner I to support production planning and outsourced production activities by accurately processing purchasing, production, and cost data.

The role manages tolling, rework, and claim costs, supports month-end closing, and collaborates with external vendors to maintain schedules and resolve issues, ensuring data accuracy and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• 0-3 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
• Basic understanding of production planning, inventory, purchasing, or manufacturing operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with outsourced packers to support production plans and goals.
• Collect purchasing data from outsourced packers and validate in ERP and SingleX.
• Process journal entries accurately, ensuring proper cut-off for monthly closing.
• Classify and process tolling costs, rework costs, and claim expenses.
• Support cost attribution based on root cause analysis and allocation by item or process.
• Review cost accuracy by comparing Pack and LINK quantities against contracted unit prices.
• Collaborate to analyze, reconcile, and adjust cost variances.
• Coordinate month-end closing with subcontractors and address omissions or data errors.
• Identify root causes of claims and support post-issue reconciliation with vendors.
• Recommend solutions to reduce production costs and improve processes.
• Provide scheduling and administrative support to Production leadership.
• Maintain 5S3R standards: Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain; Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container.
• Perform other duties as assigned
