Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized Planner to work out of the West Allis, WI office. The Planner will develop, organize, and control the manufacturing processes of parts, components, and repairs associated with steam turbine and generator equipment. In addition, this position will support research, define, and acquire new machine tools, processes, or capabilities for improving and expanding upon Milwaukee Service Center current manufacturing capabilities. The Planner supports other departments of Toshiba America Energy Systems in bid reviews, quoting, design reviews and customer interface.
Essential Duties:
- Develop work instructions, BOMs, and associated documents for manufacture of parts processed at the Milwaukee Service Center.
- Provide the shop with detailed work instructions for them to follow from start to finish on a part or process
- Work with programmers, ME’s, and shop supervision in defining optimal processes, tooling, and fixturing for manufacture of new parts.
- Develop inspection methods and repair methods for steam turbine and generator service projects.
- Interface between the shop and engineering department on technical issues associated with repairs of steam turbine and generator equipment.
- Support process improvement efforts throughout the organization.
- Support in facility improvements and organizational improvements applying 5S and six sigma methodologies.
- Support Milwaukee Service Center’s parts business by quoting manufacturing costs of various parts and repair services.
- Make manufacture or buy decisions on individual parts.
- Partner with the project managers in reviewing bid specification, quoting various work scopes and determining schedule durations.
- Support the tracking of parts, project schedule, and processes though the shop in support of project managers, master scheduler, and shop managers.
- Update routings and work instructions based on shop feedback, improvement projects and shop actuals to support continuous improvement.
- Support shop operators and ME’s in trouble shooting issue, tooling needs, and setup drawings.
- Support training of new planners, engineers, and operators on current processes and methods.
Education and Experience
- Associates degree in technical discipline preferred with at least three (3) years of planning/production scheduling experience in manufacturing; Or at least five (5) years of planning/production scheduling experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a service environment is a plus.
- Proficient with MS Office- Outlook. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
- Proficient utilizing manufacturing systems preferable Oracle EBS system.
- Experience with ME systems for making routings and detailed work instructions is preferred.
- Previous experience working with tooling vendors and selection of tooling and cutting tools is ideal for parts manufacture.
- Experience in a service environment preferred.
- Experience in the power generation industry preferred.
- AutoCAD experience required
- Must be a strong communicator and be able to work with shop management and all employees on jobs, processes and projects.
- Able to communicate and work with shop management and project managers to incorporate specific engineering and customer requirements into the production process.
- Demonstrates ability to be collaborative and capable of leading the team to a common goal/objective
- Support continuous improvement projects

Working Environment:
The majority of this work takes place in an office and the work environment is that of a typical office environment in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are usually moderate. Frequently the employee will interact with personnel in the plant where he/she may be exposed to higher noise levels.
