JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of management, the Production Planner develops and maintains weekly master production schedules, analyzes these production schedules against available capacity, and uses the master schedule to develop material requirements plans.

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note: The job functions , not the individual)

  • Maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries and to meet orders while minimizing carrying costs and transportation charges, balancing with the overall warehouse capacity.
  • Using the JDE planning systems, prepare and produce production schedule for assigned production lines. Schedules are to be developed in a way that fulfills order needs, maintains production line efficiency, and minimizes product freshness concerns.
  • Analyze current inventory status report and sales history to plan for future raw material and production schedules.
  • Implement and improve purchasing and scheduling practices to reduce inventory and increase turns while supporting production execution and warehouse capacity.
  • Monitor and manage raw material requirements to successfully minimize inventory obsolescence, adhere to established graphic transition plans, and ensure material plan is synchronized with production plan.
  • Understand and maintain relevant master data in JDE; driving the efficient use of the scheduling and purchasing messages for the facility.
  • Track key performance indicators and other metrics; including production plan adherence, percent yield to plan and on-time to plan.
  • Work closely with Shareholder/Customer Service Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction. Inform Shareholder/Customer Service Reps of necessary schedule changes and promotion changes.
  • Communicate with the various facilities and warehouse personnel to ensure that overall order demand needs are being met.
  • Analyze reasons for shortages and communicate with Central Staff.
  • Monitor forecast and collaborate with S&OP and Material Planning teams to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Ensure that promotional management requirements are being met.
  • Perform special projects and assignments.
  • Work according to all set safety procedures.
  • Travel to other Wis-Pak locations may be required for training and program development.
