Job summary

RON SUNSHINE ASSOCIATES LLC is seeking a Production Planner to coordinate material flow and production schedules in our Stafford, VA site. You will partner with Procurement, Inventory Control, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality to align orders with demand and capacity.

This role requires 2+ years in production planning, strong Excel (Pivot, lookups), ERP/MRP experience, and clear cross-functional communication. A Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing operations, or related fields.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems
• Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) concepts
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field & equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data analysis
• Proficiency with SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production schedules based on forecasts, orders, inventory, and capacity.
• Monitor work orders and production progress to meet schedules.
• Review material shortages and coordinate with stakeholders to minimize disruptions.
• Create and maintain manufacturing work orders in the ERP system.
• Ensure materials, work orders, and planning data are accurate and available.
• Update BOMs, routing, and planning parameters.
• Track work order status, progress, and material consumption.
• Collaborate across teams to resolve planning and scheduling issues.
• Generate production, inventory, and planning reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of manufacturing and program needs

This role partners closely with Procurement, Inventory Control, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to maintain production readiness, monitor material availability, and support the timely execution of production schedules.

• Support production readiness by ensuring materials, work orders, and planning data are accurate and available
• Update and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), routing information, and planning parameters
• Track work order status, schedule attainment, production progress, material consumption, and output accuracy
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve planning and scheduling issues
• Generate and maintain production, inventory, and planning reports
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of manufacturing and program needs
