About the Role
AAK USA currently has an exciting career opportunity for a Supply Chain Specialist in the Supply Chain Organization. This position will work out of the Richmond, CA AAK site. The Supply Chain Specialist – Richmond is responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining production and logistics plans that support safe, timely, and accurate fulfillment of customer demand.
Compensation Range: $103,000 - $120,000
Possible Bonus: 7.5%
Responsibilities
- Coordinating production planning and scheduling activities to support customer demand, operational priorities, and site performance goals.
- Developing and maintaining short‑term and mid‑term production plans based on customer orders, inventory availability, production capacity, and operational constraints.
- Working cross‑functionally with Operations, Logistics, Warehouse, Quality, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to support effective order fulfillment and production execution.
- Preparing and communicating daily and future planning priorities, including production needs, shipment readiness, transfer requirements, and schedule changes.
- Supporting new product introductions, process changes, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross‑functional projects.
- Responding to order changes and inquiries from internal teams.
- Developing and improving standard work, planning tools, reports, and process documentation.
- Preparing and distributing operational instructions.
- Maintaining accurate planning information in company systems, reports, schedules, and communication tools.
- Working closely with logistics, operations, and customer service teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
About You
- BA/BS degree in supply chain, logistics, business, engineering, accounting, information systems, or other related field (can be waived with equivalent experience).
- Experience in a production/inventory/forecasting/demand planning environment.
- Basic understanding of supply chain processes and the impact of inventory.
- Ability to study, interpret, and develop a thorough understanding of problems and opportunities.
- Can identify ways to improve inventory management tools and develop new processes.
- Ability to present findings that drive understanding, alignment, and informed decision‑making.
- Ability to coordinate cross‑functional research activities to improve existing processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of all Microsoft applications, especially Excel.
- Demonstrated analytical and technical skills, comfortable using ERP, inventory management, and forecasting systems.
