About the Role
Build a better future as a Loudout Operator in Newark, NJ.
Compensation Range: $25.64 - $42.73. Possible Bonus: 5%.
The Loadout Operator is involved with the successful daily operation of the facility on a 7‑day a week rotating shift basis. The position is responsible for loading and offloading bulk shipments of vegetable oil, creating accurate shipping documents, and managing the site’s shipping schedule. Additional duties include sanitation, inspection, lubrication and basic repair of assigned production equipment.
Responsibilities
- After training successfully load and offload all bulk shipment containers used by the site, completing required documentation and oil analysis. Meet loading quotas dictated by the shipping schedule and shift leader while ensuring compliance with safety and quality requirements.
- Complete all requested training.
- Assist the Shift Leader with tasks and duties required to meet production schedules and deliveries.
- Provide additional manpower to other Refinery Operators as needed.
- Perform sanitation, inspection, lubrication and basic repair of assigned production equipment on routine basis.
- Carry out housekeeping support on refinery, roads and grounds.
- Actively and enthusiastically participate in continuous improvement initiatives for the site.
- Work overtime as dictated by business needs or to cover absences of other team members.
- Assist maintenance personnel with tasks as required.
- Operate the forklift and other company tools and equipment in a proper and safe manner.
- Communicate effectively with the shift supervisor about issues and problems that may arise.
- Leave the worksite in the best condition possible anticipating a busy day.
- Use the computerized work order system to submit work orders for the shift supervisor’s evaluation.
- Participate in company activities such as Safety Committee, Audit Committees, employee task forces, etc. Contribute to controlling costs and minimizing wastage in pursuit of daily work objectives.
- Support the goal of minimum part sparing consistent with production goals and local vendor support services.
Safety & Environmental Performance
- Lead the safety effort by personal example.
- Support full department compliance with safety rules to pursue a 0‑accident goal and encourage reporting of near‑misses.
- Ensure 0 contractor accidents during major construction or when maintenance contractors are on site.
- Identify high‑risk safety or productivity issues and help remedy them.
About You
- Adhere to SOPs and other work procedures as required.
- Associate’s Degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Strong problem‑solving and math skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), time‑management and organizational skills.
- 2‑3 years of related field experience or related experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Demonstrated ability to work and thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment with evolving priorities and constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team player.
- Strong interpersonal skills that facilitate collaboration and harmony with both internal and external stakeholders (co‑workers and non‑AAK affiliated personnel).
- Computer literate (Windows Office, email).
- Ability to work rotating, DuPont schedule (alternation between day and night shift); 12‑hour shifts.
