About the role
Hydro Operations controls a chemical reaction between hydrogen gas, a nickel catalyst and steam heated oil to then gas harden to a specific melt point of IV. Once completed oil is circulated through a press with earth material to remove the nickel and earth material and then directing it to a storage tank for evaluation. The Hydro Operator is responsible for maintaining this process by reading charts/computer systems, taking several samples, and switching valves/controls so the oil/steam/gas is going to the appropriate areas. The Operators are responsible for cleaning the hydro area, replacing press screens and keeping the product moving in an efficient manner as well as sampling and labeling correctly.
