Job summary

Rocketdyne is seeking a Material Planner to coordinate products and materials through production phases. You will implement planned schedules, manage labor loading, and ensure materials are available to meet demand.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include data entry, inventory control, and expediting material flow accordingly.

• Receive units in Lab, MES, Database; create travelers and Cost Point records.
• Perform Cost Point transactions to allocate assemblies to manufacturing orders.
• Handle nonconforming material within quality and ERP systems.
• Expedite flow of materials between departments per production and shipping schedules.
• Requisition and maintain inventories of materials or supplies.

Job description

Performs planning and scheduling functions involved with coordinating products and materials through various production phases. Implements planned production schedules, labor loading and capacity requirements. Reviews schedules to determine materials and parts requirements to ensure materials are available according to schedules. Collects and analyzes data and prepares reports including recommendations to meet internal and external demands for materials and finished goods. Expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.

Essential Functions

• Accurately move and transact material in a timely manner
• Manage inventory locations
• Enter data accurately into CostPoint (ERP system)
• Data entry into Excel to provide traceability and metrics
• Communicate product or documentation discrepancies
• Assist multiple supporting functions with various material related duties
• Perform tasks designated by management
• 5S responsibilities for designated area
• Responsible for packaging shipments of completed goods against external sales order or customer demand.
• Responsible for receipt of units in Lab, MES, Database, create E-File Folder, create travelers, and Cost Point processes.
• Perform necessary Cost Point transactions to allocate complete assemblies to upper-level manufacturing orders, complete reliefs of dispatched production on the operating floor, research production control issues and questions when asked by various supporting job functions.
• Responsible for transactions of nonconforming material within our quality systems and ERP systems.
• Expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
• Requisition and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.

• Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 1 to 3 years of prior related experience

Preferred Additional Skills

• Strong computer skills, experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Edge
• Experience with Costpoint/TipQA is a bonus
• Experience with data management / processing preferred
