This position is for a Production Planner responsible for production planning and control activities for assigned products/product lines. The Production Planner will work independently with limited supervision when training is complete. The Production Planner will act on ERP exceptions, internal business information and guidance from Supervisor and Manufacturing, current inventory levels and product lead‑times to support Customer demand. This candidate will be responsible for meeting Customer and Company targets.

What You Will Do
  • Validate and act on MPS/MRP results through to releasing Work Orders to the Manufacturing Floor
  • Monitor work order activity to ensure timely hand‑offs between production levels
  • Actively evaluate, mitigate, communicate delays or supply risks to Manager & Master Scheduling
  • Actively participate in Detailed Production Schedule for assigned products and related operations
  • Perform escalated expediting when required to ensure on‑time delivery
  • Proactively interact and communicate with internal partners – Manufacturing, Logistics, Master Scheduling, Quality, Program Management
  • Work with Supply Chain (Procurement) to monitor delivery status on in‑bound purchased materials, components affecting planned production
  • Actively participate as Department representative in the event an NCR (non‑Conformance) is logged on assigned products/product lines
  • Participate in SOKO (Sales Order Kick Off) events with Master Scheduling and Program Management to support new and/or existing Customer Contracts
  • Monitor, initiate change requests for SAP master data and other general data settings to ensure accurate system signals
  • Actively contribute in the development of standardized process and procedure (SJI) for the Production Planning and Control team
  • Responsible for tracking metrics on assigned activities in order to drive results and continuous improvements in Department activity
  • Performs other assigned activities, including participation on Deep Dive, Quality, Operation, Manufacturing – driven process events, as assigned
  • Provide backup to other members of the Production Planning & Control team with cross‑training across all products/product lines
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree
  • Relevant experience in Production Planning & Control work
  • Ability to provide excellent Customer Service to both external & internal Customers
  • Ability to independently, creatively problem‑solve across Production Planning and Manufacturing‑related issues
  • Ability to make independent decisions on product issues, but understands which issues to elevate to Supervisor and/or Materials Management for advice
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common SOP’s, technical documents, instructions and reports
  • Strong strategic, organizational, problem‑solving and analytical skills required
  • Ability to download, analyze ERP data with Excel based tools (e.g. Pivot Tables, Vlookup)
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Prior experience working with Detailed Production scheduling is preferred.
  • Requires 3+ years of work experience in an ERP environment – preferably SAP
  • Prior experience in process and/or discrete production environment with knowledge of Production Planning & Control.
  • Prior experience evaluating ERP master data – Bill of Materials, Routers and data sets affecting Production Planning
  • Computer skills; Power user in Microsoft Excel is preferred

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
