Job summary

TANGENT Technologies, LLC. is seeking a detail-oriented Production Scheduling Assistant to support a dedicated product line in Aurora, IL. Under guidance, you will learn to build and maintain schedules, monitor material availability, and communicate progress to teams.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years in production or manufacturing coordination, basic Excel and ERP skills, and strong communication. A degree in operations or supply chain is preferred; internship or shop-floor exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of experience in production, inventory control, or manufacturing coordination; training provided for strong candidates.
  • Basic proficiency with Excel and ERP systems or demonstrated aptitude to learn quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Developing verbal and written communication skills across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and maintain the production schedule and material requirements for an assigned line under the direction of a senior planner.
  • Track WIP, material availability, and schedule adherence; flag variances and constraint issues to the supervising planner.
  • Support near-term production forecasting using established templates, historical demand data, and standard run rules.
  • Participate in daily/weekly production priority meetings; document and communicate schedule changes to affected teams.
  • Learn and apply company scheduling systems (SyteLine) and established run rules for the assigned line.
  • Escalate scheduling conflicts, capacity constraints, and customer-impacting delays rather than resolving them unilaterally.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

Supports production scheduling activities for an assigned product line or cell under the direction of a Senior Planner or Supervisor. Learns to build and maintain production schedules and material requirements, considering cost, timeliness, and effectiveness. Monitors material inventories and tracks production progress, escalating deviations and conflicts rather than resolving them independently. Developing familiarity with standard scheduling concepts, tools, and company systems.
