Job summary

Sonoco, a global packaging leader, seeks a Production Worker for Newport, TN. You will operate and monitor basic packaging machinery, perform routine manufacturing tasks, and support safety, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced plant.

A high school diploma or GED is needed; overtime may be required. The starting pay is $21.50 per hour, with growth opportunities through hands-on training and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience or training.
• Read and comprehend standard work instructions, math and measuring.
• An individual looking to advance with a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating closely with departments and plant teams to complete basic manufacturing.
• Packs product into boxes, retrieves product from equipment and operates machinery.
• Making incremental process adjustments, monitor and report quality of manufactured products.
• Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to set up new production jobs.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Assists other departments as needed.
