Job summary

Sonoco Products Company in Newport, TN is seeking a Production Worker to join our manufacturing team. This role supports safe, efficient production on multiple shifts and requires reliability and a strong work ethic.

You will operate and monitor equipment, assist with quality checks, and collaborate with other departments. Overtime may be required to meet production needs; prior manufacturing experience is helpful.

• Previous manufacturing experience or training.
• Read and comprehend standard work instructions, math and measuring.
• Strong attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with plant teams to complete basic manufacturing tasks.
• Pack product into boxes, retrieve product from equipment, and operate machinery.
• Make incremental process adjustments and monitor quality of manufactured products.
• Troubleshoot to set up new production jobs.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Assist other departments as needed.

Position: Production Worker

Location: Newport, TN

Rate: starting at $21.50/hr

Shift: Swing -1st and 2nd shift) and 3rd shift

**MUST BE WILLING TO WORK OVERTIME IF NEEDED**

While reporting to theSupervisor,as theProduction Workerfor our swing (1st and 2nd shift) and 3rd shift,youwill be responsible forcollaborating and contributing to the production environment within our manufacturing operations. Safety, quality, productivity,andstrongwork ethic are important to the Sonoco culture.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Collaborating closely with departments and plant teams to complete basic manufacturing
• Packs product into boxes retrieves product from equipment and operates machinery
• Making incremental process adjustments, monitor and report quality of manufactured products
• Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to set up new production jobs
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
• Assists other departments as needed

This position is located at our tubes and cores manufacturing facility in Newport, TN.
