Job summary

CPS, Inc. in Lake Geneva, WI, is seeking a production operator for a split day shift (10:00 AM–6:30 PM).

You will set up, operate, and monitor equipment used for producing and packaging products, and measure, weigh, mix, and process chemical ingredients according to established procedures. You will monitor batches for quality and food safety, record data accurately, draw samples for testing, and keep the work area clean and safe.

Qualifications

• Reading and math at a high school graduate level.
• Experience in chemical or food processing preferred.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
• GMP and HACCP training are advantageous.
• Experience with measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients.
• Ability to operate and monitor production and packaging equipment.
• Ability to draw samples for quality testing.
• Ability to record data accurately.
• Interest in maintaining clean, safe work areas.

Duties

• Set up, operate, and monitor equipment used for producing and packaging products.
• Measure, weigh, mix, and process chemical ingredients following established procedures to create finished products.
• Monitor batches for quality and food safety parameters, including Critical Control Points and Control Points.
• Record production, sanitation, and test data accurately and legibly.
• Draw samples of products for quality tests.
• Fill containers with chemical products for sale or internal use.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and work areas according to company procedures.
• Promptly report all food safety, physical safety, and product quality issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Salary

$17.00 - 18.00 / hour

Technical Qualifications

• Proficient in reading and mathematics at the high school graduate level
• Minimum of two years of chemical or food processing experience preferred
• Forklift certification preferred
• GMP training is a plus
• HACCP training is a plus
• Experience measuring, weighing, mixing, and processing ingredients
• Ability to operate and monitor production and packaging equipment
• Ability to draw product samples for quality testing
• Ability to accurately record production, sanitation, and test data
• Ability to safely operate production machinery, including forklifts, agitators, homogenizers, and drum tippers
• Ability to perform visual and olfactory observations
