Job summary

Masis Professional Group seeks a hands-on Chemical Production Operator for a leading pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturer. You will troubleshoot mechanical systems, operate reactors, distillation columns, and pumps, and ensure safe, compliant production.

This position offers a 12-hour rotating shift (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) on a 2-2-3 schedule with benefits from day one. Experience with Highly Hazardous Chemicals and SAP is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5 years' experience as a Chemical Production Operator or similar equipment operator job.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • 2 years of experience with Highly Hazardous Chemicals (HHCs).
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence clearly and accurately.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; SAP experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all operating procedures to ensure safe work practices and maintain current documentation.
  • Participate in 5S and SFTI initiatives within the Manufacturing department.
  • Maintain an audit-ready manufacturing area and control systems.
  • Report injuries, near misses, and accidents to the supervisor and in WSO.
  • Operate reactors, distillation columns, filters, and molecular sieves.
  • Read meters, gauges, and automatic recording devices to verify operating conditions.
  • Operate and control electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate chemical flow.
  • Handle highly hazardous chemicals in drums, totes, trucks, cylinders, or bulk tanks.
  • Adjust manual controls or override automatic controls to maintain proper operating ranges.
  • Visually inspect equipment periodically and adjust pH of discharged water.
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Safety, Compliance, and Housekeeping
  • Follow all operating procedures, rules, and instructions to ensure safe work practices; maintain full understanding of all relevant procedures.
  • Participate in 5S and SFTI initiatives within the Manufacturing department.
  • Maintain an audit-ready manufacturing area and control systems, ensuring documentation is current and the environment is clean and organized.
  • Report personal injuries, near misses, and accidents—regardless of severity—to the supervisor and in WSO.
  • Perform all work in compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in accordance with 21 CFR 210 & 211.
Operations and Equipment Management
  • Operate reactors, distillation columns, filters, and molecular sieves.
  • Read meters, gauges, and automatic recording devices at prescribed intervals to verify operating conditions.
  • Operate and control electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate chemical flow.
  • Handle highly hazardous chemicals in drums, totes, trucks, cylinders, or bulk tanks.
  • Adjust manual controls or override automatic controls (as directed) to maintain proper operating ranges, switch to backup systems, or shut down equipment.
  • Visually inspect equipment periodically to identify malfunctions, repair needs, adjustments, or lubrication requirements.
  • Adjust the pH of discharged water as required.
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Chemical Production Operator or similar equipment operator job.
  • Strong Mechanical skills such as troubleshooting and minor repairs.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working with Highly Hazardous Chemicals (HHCs).
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence clearly and accurately.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SAP is highly preferred.
